According to the report by the International Institute for Peace Studies, Venezuela reduced by 25 percent its military spending.
According to this document, our country is in fifth place behind Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Mexico, on fewer resources allocated for purchases of weapons last year.
In this sense it is stressed that Venezuela is the nation that made the less investment in weapons acquisition, and the proof of it is that in 2008, the U.S. spent $ 4.329 million and 3.254 millions were allocated in 2009.
Also remarks that the United States spent 698 billion dollars, or a 43 percent of the global total.
