Qué pasa a Venezuela? The new constitution and the new political perspectives of the Bolivarian revolution

After a long political debate, the National Assembly (the Venezuelan Parliament) approved the project of a constitutional reform, to be voted on December the 2nd in a popular referendum, aimed at increasing citizens' participation and at making the country more inclusive and egalitarian.
Is this an important step towards the construction of what president Hugo Chavez defined the “Socialism of the 21st Century”?
Is a new form of Socialism possible in the 21st century?

Circolo Alter-native, the student organization “Machiavelli” and Bolivariaanse Kring Nederland invite you to a debate on the implications of these reforms.
